What's going on for MyBB?

So it feels like MyBB is at a stand still with any new major updates. They were working on some pretty cool ones but no new news on it.

I have a feeling eventually MyBB will retire. Maybe it will happen sooner than I think.

Yep, they won't bother updating it quickly and can take ages upon ages.

I have noticed this too.. I mean I haven't been active for the past year or so on my forum because my time was consumed by a recent move over the past year.. but I was surprised to find that there hadn't been many changes..

That said, I hope that it gets forked and improved upon.. kind of like Android..

All though im happy with my site being on Xenforo so I wouldn’t go anywhere else now.

I am very, very curious about Xenforo.. admittedly, a lot more now than I have been in recent years..

It seems to have come a long way since its release..

It can be overused by almost every forum but I’ve learned how to write plugins for XF i’m very use to it so at this stage ive found my home when it comes to making & maintaining forums 😀

How is it with theme creation? I usually make my own skins.. but because my recent move involved me leaving a moldy apartment that was (unknowingly) killing me and my husband and I had ended up severe mold toxicity from it. (I legit thought it was Covid before my diagnosis, even though we were so isolated that we were nearly reclusive.)

It has affected my memory so bad that I will have to relearn how to theme my MyBB forum.. as well as learn to use Photoshop again.. I am hoping it wont take too long, even though, it did take me 3 weeks to remember why I was requesting a termination of my lease.. after we had completed our move last December.. I barely remember how to theme PB and Jcink..

MyBB is a P.I.T.A. to theme, that much I do remember, but I guess it is sorta blessing in disguise that there hasnt been much changes.. I've been able to keep my forum up to date though, and I remember what to do admin wise, but theming and the templates escape me right now.

How easy is it to theme Xenforo in comparison to MyBB?

I honestly think Woltlab Suite is a much easier platform to design a theme for. It's honestly the easiest one that I've used, and I'm not even too familiar with designing a theme. MyBB definitely was and I think is still somewhat a pain to make a theme for. I haven't used MyBB in a very long time though.

Years ago i made one easily but that was a decade ago.
