What do you think is the best web server software?

Wamp
XAAMP
Apache
Or Something Else

Re: What's the best forum software?

You know those aren't forum softwares, right?

Re: What's the best forum software?

I've not even heard of these three names in my life. And I agree with Gimgak... are they really forum softwares?

Well, I chose "Something Else" because the forum software I think is the best is MyBB.

Re: What's the best forum software?

I haven't heard of any of those either, I have used phpbb, mybb and smf. To be honest I think they are all great but it depends what you will be doing to which is best in my opinion.

Re: What's the best forum software?

Never heard of those. I personally like Phpbb the best.

Re: What's the best forum software?

Apache is a web server software, and XAMPP and WAMP are web server packages, not forum software -razz-

I'll say phpBB (3) if we are talking about forum software.

Re: What's the best forum software?

maybe edit the poll to actually include forum software

Re: What's the best forum software?

Or maybe he made the mistake of putting forum instead of web-server software.

Re: What's the best forum software?

I like phpBB, but I pick Apache in your poll since Apache web servers work pretty well.

Re: What's the best forum software?

for me it has to be vbulletin

Re: What's the best forum software?

I never even heard of these so i choose "something else". I personally think IPB is the best paid software and zetaboards is the best free software.

Re: What's the best forum software?

InvisionPower Board is by far the best, however it's expensive. Out of the free ones, I'd use myBB or iBB. However if you are using auto-script installers like Fantastico, they generally only offer phpBB, which isn't that bad really.

InvisionPower Services now have an offer, and for starting at 10$ a month (the standard shared hosting cost) they'll give you 1 GB space, 5 GB data transfer, and a full InvisonPower Board license. Admittedly the 20$ set up fee stinks. http://www.invisionpower.com/hosting/community.html

I'm tempted to go for it myself, as IPB is a really good software, but you can get other hosts that are much cheaper, and you can just install one of the free softwares.

Re: What's the best forum software?

-razz- Those aren't forum software's. But i will say Apache out of them or wammp has all your need to run a localhost server!

He didn't say forum software he was web server software.
The keyword is Server. Each website or host has to run on a Server right? Well the ones he listed in the poll are servers not web hosts such as IPBFree,Invisionfree, & Zetaboards.
Also i think Apache is the best.
