Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an additional layer of security that requires a user to provide a second piece of evidence to verify their identity when logging in to an account. This second factor is typically a code that is sent to the user's phone via SMS or generated by a 2FA app, but it can also be a biometric factor, such as a fingerprint or facial recognition.

Two-factor authentication is important because it helps to prevent unauthorized access to accounts, even if an attacker has obtained the user's password. This makes it much more difficult for hackers to gain access to accounts, which can help to protect against identity theft, data breaches, and other security threats.

Many online accounts, including email accounts, social media accounts, and online banking accounts, offer two-factor authentication as an optional security measure. It is generally recommended to enable 2FA whenever it is available, as it can provide an extra level of protection for your online accounts.

Have you enabled 2FA? Or do you think for the online activities you have that it's not important to use ?

On my forum, I don’t have it enabled. Maybe if I ever got bigger & had more Staff I would implement it. I have only had experience with it on ForumPromotion.

(2FA) is really good, I have been using it for some time, I have moved to passkeys for a few things I'm doing and want secure.

Only a email they get to be sent then they activate from there 😉 not like steam or twitch that you end up getting a SMS text to your phone with a dead battery that you forgot to charge up LOL

Two Factor Authentication is amazing and I use it wherever it is available to be sure that I have that extra layer of protection. It's very rare that I have any issues accessing my account when using 2FA if I am honest but I do know that when I started using it on Discord and I got a new phone and lost access to my Google Authenticator it was a bit of a pain for me to get in because I had also misplaced my back up codes but that was my problem and I managed to fix that.
