There's always debates on what's good enough. That's why I would always rather be paid a wage and have that wage written down on PayPal. Anyway, especially when dealing with the elderly - or anyone else without a sound mind, that's a must.

Who has had similar problems? How do you deal with the situation?

However, though, even with things written down - it's often not good enough for certain family members or other protectors of the client. For instance, they might expect you to work for free - even if most of the day - or they may object to your work - for the quality, or simply believe you shouldn't be doing that much of it.

Anyway, people have been fighting wars etc.. for all of history over this stuff!

I agree with you. There should always be a consensual agreement between the parties involved when transacting a business or have a witness that can testify to that effects. People tends to what to cheat you especially when when you render minor home services like house cleaning or laundry.
