I liked Windows 7, myself. Very similar to Vista, so when I got 7 on a laptop some years ago, it wasn't that bad in terms of working with it once I got the hang of it.
I like Lubuntu 14.10 because it runs very fast on my older desktop computer with a Intel Dual-Core 1.86GHz Core2Dou CPU, 3GB of RAM, Nvidia GT 620 1GB video card, and 320GB Sata hard drive.
Lubuntu also rarely freezes, randomly reboots, and crashes in my experience of using it on my Desktop.
The user interface of Lubuntu is also very easy to use since it is like Windows XP, but it also automatically organizes the shortcuts for program in the application launcher by category like games, media, office, utilities, etc.
Well, right from the early days (mid to late 80's) ... I stepped all the way through the Windows OS's.
Along the way, I skipped a few systems, including Millennium, Vista and to date, Windows 8.0. Along the way, I really enjoyed Windows 3.1 and Windows 98 SE (but that's a long, long time ago!!! lol). I even moved over to XP, kicking and screaming, when I no longer had a choice, based on the changes in PC's and software spec.
