Okay, seeing as in the anti-virus thread people are saying that Norton 2010 still hogs their resources and slows down their system, I decided that I would start a thread seeing what everybody's PC build consists of.
First off, you must state whether you built it yourself or bought it premade.
I build my computers as I have never seen a premade system that comes anywhere near to the quality that I desire from a computer. You can spend a few hundred and get a piece of junk from a premade or spend the same amount and get high quality by building it yourself or having someone else build it.
I just built another system a few months back and this new system consists of:
[*]Asus P6X58D Premium (SSD Express Gate installed on the motherboard)
i7 950
[*]SSD X25M (80 GB Solid State Drive from Intel)
[*]300GB Velociraptor
[*]1TB Spinpoint from Samsung HD
[*]6 sticks of 2GB Crucial DDR3 10600 (motherboard can take up to 24GB)
[*]Radeon HD 4890 (Purchased this last year and have no real reason to upgrade)
[*]2 DVD burner Drives and 1 BluRay burner
[*]Corsair Hydro H70 (just got it in last week)
[*]Corsair 800D (Case - a very nice case!)
I could share more, but for now, I would like to see what everyone else has. How many of us here are builders and how many of us here are premade buyers? It really doesn't matter. I build computers all the time for people and enjoy the look on their face when for $500 I can build a system that beats a system from dell at $700.
I also Run Windows 7 & OSX S.L. as a hackintosh dual boot.
