What would you do if an acquaintance started yelling at you in public because they have a difference of opinion?

I had a lady from church yell at me about something she disapproved of, and I didn't know how to get her to stop. What was her disapproval? I'm planning a baby shower for someone at our church and the mom-to-be offered to bring the decorations from her baby shower her family threw for them a couple weeks ago so we could save money. The other church lady yelled at me repeatedly that it was TACKY. I mean, she YELLED it.

I would have simple walked away from the person yelling at me.

If they followed me and continued yelling, then I would have threatened to contact the police and report them from harassment if they didn't stop. And I would have followed through if they continued to yell at me after the threat.

I would walk away from the person, there's no reason to engage with someone who's causing a scene and trying to upset you.

My boss at a job I used to work at got mad because of something or another I apparently did and screamed at me in front of the customers. She was a jerk, and actually later got fired for threatening my life and getting reported for doing so.

Karma!!

Yell at the top of my lungs: I can't hear you!

Ignore them and carry on.

Ignore 'em and carry on. If there's a disagreement about something, we can discuss it privately and in a civilized manner without yelling at each other.

That said, if someone told me they were bringing decorations from home from a previous party to help save money, I'd be all for it. Sounds like the only tacky one here is that lady. xD

To start with, no one is permitted to yell at me no matter the situation or message they are trying to pass. If you yell at me, you would get a double telling from me in return. And if you do it in public, be sure that I would humiliate you.
