I usually back up the database once or twice a day and the files i usually zip up and download whenever i am in File Manager.

We have a script which backs up the forum every night then i download my own back up to about every other day.

All the time.. I back up my db whenever I change/add/remove skins, when there has been milestone posts, in addition to every week.. and before I go on vacation.

I have a 4gb thumb drive for that reason, and it is a Cruzer Titanium.

I might get the 8gb for it instead. (and it happens that my host is a free host, but the owner allows us access to our db)

I got a cron job that backs it up every night.

Some free hosts do allow db backups 😉

I backup just about everyday to every other day (my DB), I take file backups about every week or so.

I have an archive of databases over the past month so i usually have 30 backups on my computer and sometimes i have 2 for some days so i have about 35 at the moment which as you could expect takes up alot of space -lol-

1-2 times a week.

If my forum goes very big then i would backup every day.

Usually every five or so days. Although, I delete the old ones. But, for some reason, I have a backup from September. ~eeeek~

Why would you need them when you have a new one?

There is a risk because if the new one fails you have no other backups to rely on.
