For some odd reason, it's hot topic and folks like to debate when it's "acceptable" to start celebrating Christmas - i.e. putting up a tree or listening to Christmas music. What's your take and when do you start breaking out your Christmas traditions?

I'm a November 1st guy personally. My tree is up (as of today), just not decorated (that's this weekend's task) and I get full use out of my Christmas playlists and movies from now till the new year. As for others, I say let folks do what makes them happy and start celebrating when they want. There are far more concerning and serious things to debate and worry about than when someone puts up a tree or plays a certain song. 😉

After you get your Black Friday shopping out of the way is acceptable. Anything before that is ridiculous.

My tree is up (as of today)
Get out 😡

Anyway, we "celebrate" it usually on the last week of November (or early December) where that's when the tree should be up but, Christmas doesn't mean all that much to me now given my age and mindset. However though, I can appreciate the fancy grub as always 😀

With us, it goes up sometime after November 25th, and before December 20th. Never really set on making a specific date with it, unless we were decorating for show.

Typically, I put up my tree the weekend after thanksgiving. But, it seems all the stores and stuff around us have already started decorating, having sales and the likes. I've been hearing Christmas music on the radio, there's a ton of it playing in retail department stores... It's crazy lol. Like, this started before Halloween.

Yeah, it always bugs me. It seems they start it earier and earier each year.

I wait until after Thanksgiving for the decorations. I barely ever listen to Christmas music, so that will be limited to the week of and Christmas day itself.... And even then not a lot.

I love Christmas everything! Music, movies, decorations, etc. But I hate when stores start bringing out the Christmas stuff too early. The Longs(CVS) in my town put up their Christmas stuff the day after Halloween.

I usually try to put up the Christmas lights outside and the tree up around December 8th - 10th. Before that just feels too early for me.

I like putting up my Christmas tree over the weekend following Thanksgiving. I will gradually wrap presents from that point all the way up until a day or two before Christmas. I don't mind putting on a movie or watching tv while I wrap presents. Some of them may be Christmas stuff but not always. It depends on what I feel like watching/what is on. All of my Christmas shopping gets done in August, September and October. That way, I can avoid getting out in the chaotic mess that is the Christmas shopping season and do fun things like put up my Christmas tree and wrap presents.

I do not know when to start celebrating since it's been over 5 years ago since I had an tree up with lights on it. Every Christmas tends to be an normal flipping day. Yet again with no family to be with it tends to but the flip-flop on that.

I am one of the people who believes to celebrate one holiday at a time. Such as wait for Halloween to be over before putting out thanksgivings decor, as well as waiting for thanksgiving to be over before starting to put up Christmas decor. It’s just always been my thing to do one holiday at a time and enjoy each one when it comes.
