Do you go with the flow or take a more serious attitude? I’m quite easy-going but I can also be serious when the need arises. I don’t like forums that are too laid back where all there is is games & they let other members berate one another. That’s too laid back.
Flipside, can’t be overly serious. Having too many rigid rules where you feel like you have to walk on eggshells.

i go with the flow of the community but in certain parts of the site i would give a helping hand in what to talk about so it keeps the forum on topic,
i do enforce rules if someone does get out of hand because i want to keep a happy and friendly forum, no one wants a unhappy place to visit.

go with the flow as long as the forum remains happy and wonderful community.

It depends on the situation going on. If it's just small problem, then I'm okay with sending that person a PM with a friendly reminder. Or just talking things out through a PM. If it's a serious problem then I'll be a lot more serious. If there aren't any problems then I'm normally just going with the flow.

I take a more serious attitude, therefore, I don't have any off-topic sections on my forum. I would like to have members who are genuinely interested in my forum niche, I wouldn't want anyone to post when they don't know or care about the main topic.

I'm very easy going but I can't stand negativity and drama.

I get enough of that with my 16-year-old. LOL.

So, I take care of it from the start by making rules about it. Then I take immediate action to get those types of folks off the forum. I don't warn them, I ban them. Most people who are negative and dramatic will not change. Getting rid of them from the start will set an example of what you won't tolerate and it will keep the forum a fun place to go to.

A dramatic and negative person is just as bad as a spammer in my eyes.

I'm more laid back when it comes to running my forum, but I wouldn't hesitate to step in if need be. If there are members getting out of hand and harassing other members I will deal with them accordingly.

I try to tread the middle ground, leaving my biases and prejudices at the forum door with a view to defuse and discuss rather than punish. I'm a firm believer in balance in all things so I will always try to put myself in the shoes of a member to try and get an understanding of their point of view. There are limits but luckily they are rarely reached.

I am pretty laid back when it comes to running a forum but I will be serious and take things into account and deal with them when I need to. I will never allow members to sit and make fun of one another and I will never allow spam messages to be posted all over the forum as that is not a good look to anyone who comes to the site who may be a potential member. I am all for people hanging out, chilling, and just interacting with one another but I will be honest that if someone takes things too far, then I will intervene.
