When lifting a ban on a member, what restrictions, if any, do you place on his/her account?

No restrictions yet... but watch his moves. He screws up? Restrictions. It depends on what he did.

I have this attitude, too.
But there are some people who request mercy. I give mercy sometimes. Don't take my kindness for granted.
Well, If they request and I end up reading there ban and warning history and how long they been ban for

Still end up as a no XD

Depending on what the individual who was banned did in the first place to get banned if I were to give them another chance to prove themselves I would definitely consider having their posts put under approval for a while as well as ensuring all staff members kept an eye on their activity around the forum.

I would also prevent them from having access to private messaging at least for a little and then slowly allow them to have more access in the future.

I really can't really remember that last time I banned someone on a forum I own. I actually despair when I see members banned by owners or admins on forums I help manage. I only perm ban spammers and serious law breakers.

I have occasionally given members a timeout but with no restrictions once the penalty has been served.

once ban stay ban Xd
I agree with this for the most part.

Although, I might let some banned members make an appeal.

But for the most part, you have to do a lot to make me ban you and when you do, I'm over you.

We've banned/unbanned a few people for different reasons over the years. If we allow a banned user to come back, there will be stipulations. I'd say mod queue is pretty standard, but the restrictions may vary based on what offense(s) brought that user to be banned in the first place.

My system restores them to a regular user status if it was a temp ban. I deem the ban as the punishment and if I deemed them to only be a temp ban, I see no reason to continue punishing them. I have been thinking of new ways for people that misuse the PM system, but still don't have a concept set in stone.

The member could be faulty banned with stop forum bot like for example two different persons having the same IP address while the problem is not one person multiple accounts but login from shared wifi or for example country same IP provided for many people like Nigeria.

That's why you use something like "WhatIsMyIPAddress."

Well, it actually depends on when the member did that caused his ban. If it was something serious with his contents, I would definitely place his posts on moderation for a while and I'm going to discuss that with him or her before lifting the ban finally.
