When promoting your forum

Does it annoy you when someone goes something along the lines of 'Great forum, hope it works out'
Yet they haven't even joined?

I hate that, what's the point of saying that and not even bothering to be part of the community.

I say it about forums (Mainly because me job is comment on forums and i usually say what i like about it aswell rather then just saying great forum) and i tend not to join them as i just don't have time as if i joined every forum i liked i would be members of thousands so i only join ones that really stand out but the other good ones i still say are good but i just don't join.

I will say i'm joining in the topic if i make positive comments. I am a bit of a hypocrite here thinking about it.

General chat forums especially there. I am hardly active on any of them.

Well if someone is telling you that you have a great forum, that doesnt automatically mean they are going join it and be active. Not everyone has the time to join every forum they look at. Also, why be offended if someone is giving you compliments on your forum?
