I'm not sure, since a lot of the time I use the affiliate links as the source/resource links for my articles, since I quoted a lot of my article or images from the affiliate sales page, so if the links get removed in my articles then the new owner or myself could be accused of stealing content for not providing a work cited/ bibliography link back to the affiliate product page which I quoted some information from.

But, on the other hand, the new owner of a website might not appreciate that the previous owner or owners are still making money with old affiliate links on his newly purchased website.

I know a lot of blogs, and websites which have a lot of affiliate links in their articles, so removing them all can take hours if they have a lot of content.

I'm not sure why you would remove the links, they would have the potential to earn some revenue for you, even after the new owner has taken over the site. If the new owner doesn't like the links there then he or she can remove them, once they have control of the site.

I agree, I do not remove my links and stuff until the new owner has bought it. But there are certain aspects to ads which you cant remove and must be disclosed in the sale. Paid Ads, You have to keep those up.

I've never been big into affiliate markets, I have always Sold the AD space, which is better in revenue.

If they find out they'll remove or make an account themselves, no big problem.
