I'm not sure, since a lot of the time I use the affiliate links as the source/resource links for my articles, since I quoted a lot of my article or images from the affiliate sales page, so if the links get removed in my articles then the new owner or myself could be accused of stealing content for not providing a work cited/ bibliography link back to the affiliate product page which I quoted some information from.
But, on the other hand, the new owner of a website might not appreciate that the previous owner or owners are still making money with old affiliate links on his newly purchased website.
I know a lot of blogs, and websites which have a lot of affiliate links in their articles, so removing them all can take hours if they have a lot of content.
