Reviews are an essential part of online marketing and being able to provide a thorough analysis of the product allows the potential buyer to make an informed and intelligent decision.

Many types of sites would benefit from posting product reviews including affiliate/Amazon sites; internet marketers and online shopping outlets.

And, while it's important to provide a balanced view of a product, you also want to close the sale.

Google encourages a balanced point of view for articles and reviews, such as covering both sides.

So, just how fair should you make the review? Do you cover every flaw in detail when reviewing a product? I'm not suggesting that you hide the truth in a review or even lie. But, what if that 'flaw' were unimportant to the potential buyer, but simply mentioning it put them off from buying? If that's the situation, the being 100% candid would cheat you out of a sale. Can you emphasize only the good points of your product or the one you are linking to or at least how do you find a good balance of reviewing the pro's and cons of a situation?

That's difficult to say. You'd have top ask how essential the flaw is, and how it would affect user experience. If the answer is 'not' and 'hardly', then I may not bother with it.
