Where does your traffic come from?

Hey everyone, pretty new here so sorry if this has been asked before. Just curious as to where the majority of everyone's traffic comes from - SEO, Social, Referrals, Paid etc?

I'm struggling to see me making a big dent in my SEO keyword space so for that reasoning I want to make sure I focus the right areas - be great to hear where you get your peeps from 🙂

For a rough feel my traffic is currently 55% Social, 30% SEO, 10% Direct, 5% Referrals

I used to have a .tk domain for my forum and once I got that, I started getting a ton of traffic. It might have just been spam bots, though. They never registered they'd just look around on the site. I also got traffic from post loop. When I advertised, I would get just a tiny bit of traffic from that. I didn't advertise on social media, though. I bet if I did it would have helped even more.

Without paid I seem to find Reddit gives me the biggest hit of traffic, in particular as I can post links to my sites articles in really relevant subreddit's.

Sometimes your greatest marketplace can be in your own backyard.

Yes,Reddit is one of the best free paid traffic source.

Reddit is great, especially if you have something with good karma - can easily get a 1000 visitors in the right subreddit. I was just wondering if there was other places you guy's had good success with? I'm mainly focusing on SEO at the moment but sure is a grind to get any results worth noting.

Most of the members came from Google (search engines are an effective tool!). A member of the community also made a video about the forum itself, which brought in a lot of traffic, it was a simple video with speech, explaining the features and such. The link to the community was in the description of the video.

I use Google Analytics. Right now, most of my traffic is coming from advertisements and search engines. We have started working on improving our social media presence so hopefully that will be a good source soon as well.

Most of my traffic comes from word of mouth really. I get traffic from Twitter - but none join or anything. 😛
