In much of the USA, you can't say things without offending people. However, oddly enough, you can't criticize Trump, specifically in the southern USA, without being labeled gay or something. I see this denial of freedom of speech goes both ways.
Freedom of speech does not equal freedom from consequences. Meaning, that while a Supreme Court can't persecute you for what you can or cannot say, it doesn't stop the public from doing it. While some parts of this are justified, there's a lot of it that isn't justified. In much of the USA, you can't say things without offending people.
Well, you don't always have the right to say it. That's the big deal with X now and Musk's supposed free speech on there vs what you see in other social media.Like MrDawn said, you have the freedom to say what you want but there are always some sort of consequences either positive or negative or both!
In the same vein folks also have the right to take offense to anything too.
Much like here in Scotland, people weren't allowed to criticise Nicola Sturgeon or the wider Scottish National Party. I'm not joking 😐However, oddly enough, you can't criticize Trump, specifically in the southern USA
