The banner ad sizes I have used most are 88 x 31, 125 x 125 and 468 x 60.

What about you, what banner ad sizes have you used to promote your site?

Not too large, but large enough to be eye-catching.

Maybe, a bit larger than the FP logo?

Usually I use the size like the one in my signature, 468x60 is the size I like most.
88x31 is more a button and old school imo

I use 468*60 most of the time, never really used any other sizes.

Thanks everyone for your replies. 468 x 60 seems to be the most popular and the ad size we mostly think of when we hear the word "banner".

Further replies would be welcome.

Usually 468 x 60 as we register to alot of topsites and stuff.
I do also use our sites banner occasionally which is 280 x 181

If you are using Xenforo with sidebar column, it seems 300x300 or 125x125 boxes should on this place.

Also for standart forum style, I will recommend 728x90 (on the footer) and 468x60 (on the header). 🙂

I know this is a very old topic, but I would be interested in hearing what banner ad sizes you are currently using to promote your forum or website?

Thanks in advance.

Some of the past banners I've made for sites (or even just for fun) for the site itself, I've used 700x300, 982x250, 851x315, 700x110, and 750x325. I actually prefer the longer, but wider sizing and would honestly probably go with that if it fit with the site if I were to make one these days. Would probably depend on the site though since, of course, I'd want to make something that fits it.

For signature ads, I always did standard signature image sizes, so usually somewhere in the 300-400 range for width and the 100-200 range for height. For affiliate images, I always did 88x33 and never deviated from it. I never really did anything outside of signature ads and affiliate buttons, so I'd probably stick with those sizes even today, but I would probably also strive to have a few different options in terms of style and sizing to allow people to choose what they want while also not compromising on branding. If I need something super specific, like a 400x400 image for ad space for example, I'd probably make it when I needed it, but keep it available somewhere on the forum (probably the staff boards) in case it was ever needed again.

My forum has advertisements for 468x60, and 250x250 banner slots. I did previously have 728x90 banners on my forum, but I removed them.
