I think 2d are better for the same reason Lucky! said.
The best 3d movie I seen was a kid movie...I seen transformers in 3d and it wasn't even as good as the kid movie was. In terms of what they did with the 3d effects.
If I can recall, it was a short film about air combat at my local AirZoo. It was pretty cool. They had fans coming out of the head rests in front of you, had the smell of dirty air coming from under the floor and the seats shook.
I depends on the type of movie I'm watching. Most of the time, I usually just watch a movie in 2D. But there is one movie that will be coming out next year that I am really anxious to see and I am considering watching it in 3D.
Disney usually brings it to the table with 3D movies, so if there's ever a 3D option and we have the money, my family will try and catch the 3D showing. Everything else, ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....usually 2D. The eternal curse of wearing glasses means I look like a dork whenever I wear 3D glasses.
I've never seen an actual 3D movie, though I'm sure it would be an interesting experience. I don't think I would go to see one in the theaters and I don't really want to invest into the equipment for this 3D movie viewing experience, so I will just have to keep wondering what it will be like.
3D feels more like a gimmick than anything else, but sometimes it's okay, I don't really know what to say. It's not that much of a spectacle to me, and it's just ... there.
I think I prefer 2D mainly because most 3D movies are mainly trying to just make money off the 3D aspect and don't put any actual work into the movie itself or its plot.
