I think content related to blocking internet ads, and pop-ups get fewer ad clicks since most visitors might already have an ad blocker on their web browsers which block ads or dislike ads. Plus, if you convince your regular users to install ad blockers on their browsers. They won't see much ads anymore except for hard coded picture links and text links which point to an affiliate network site like Amazon, and I-tunes.
I also heard advance technology tips, expert web design articles, and intermediate online marketing tends to get fewer clicks because tech savvy people do not click on many ads.
I notice topics related to "beginners to novice users tend to earn more then topics about advance tech problems" in my forums and websites.
But, it is the advance topics which bring in more traffic in some cases.
