From a purely aesthetic standpoint, which graphic looks better to you. If you think they're both terrible, then tell me which is the least terrible. 😛

(ignore the contradiction of using a fancy font to represent "simplicity")

The second one is the better of the two in my opinion, they could both be better, as I think the fonts are a little bit too generic.. other than that, the second one is my choice.

I also like the 2nd one.. mostly because I like that it won't have to be as tall to read it.. I like short wide logos if there's text involved.

It's not really a logo, per se. It's more of an intro graphic (beneath the main logo)....if that makes any difference to you. Thanks for your input, both of you.

Here's another one I just did:

In my opinion the design is good but the concept isn't. If you really want something to reflect and create an image or want someone to remember an image for what it is saying then the font has to represent what the text says.

I agree with you, Tindris. That's why I went ahead and tried to simplify the "Simplicity" text. Did you see this version yet? Link: http://p8i.com/design/ Or was that what you were referring to?

I went with the Mesquite font (the first image in the op) originally because it matched the late 1800s Western style poster theme that I also have going on.

The new one looks better, but I still stand by what I have said before. The images on your site are too large. If you are good at design and coding I suggest dynamic php generated bars for skills instead of images.

That's a good idea. I'll try and do that. What about this image here? Would I be better off using live text and piecing it together through CSS? Only trouble I'd have is with the texture, but I'm pretty sure there's a clipping mask equivalent in coding.

This image in particular you can't do much about, other images you can. Also restricting the size of images will help.

I think the second looks better, it just seems more put together..... the first seems kind of stretched.

I really like the second one it is more ye catching and also a little bit more eye catching

Last one looks great, I really love the text on it, very pretty!
