Hello,

Is it more important to buy a domain name first or add a banner/skin first?
if i buy the domain name first, and don't have a professional/template skin, will it get less users? should add the template/skin first to look better to get more users once i add the domain name?

Also, question regarding domain names..Is there any difference between the chances of getting it to appear in large searche engines between a .com, .net, .info, .org?

also, if i the url was cowildlife instead of coloradowildlife would this affect the changes of getting it to appear in larage search engines?

thanks 🙂

coloradowildlife provides more info to search engines (colorado, cow, wild, life, wildlife, color).

And what do you mean? With buying domain first or add banner/skins.

.Com & .Net are TLD (Top Level Domains) so they get a better PR (Page Rank).

I think i get it now.
I have no idea 😀 Better make it all working before publishing it. Make all images/skins/logos and then publish it with your new domain.
Thats my opinion if you can understand my bad english 😛

Whether you have a .com, .net, .info or .org, it will not affect your PR in a positive or negative way.

That's bull. Any TLD or ccTLD has a fair shot at competition in the engines.

As for aragorn, it doesn't really matter. I got a skin/banner before I got my ccTLD for my new site, and I still am not ready to "open" it.

For an example, *.tk domain would be horrible :/
But it wont affect search engines i guess...only visitors.

Yeah but more users like .com and .net and more users can mean more linkbacks and can higher ur PR.

Right ?

Alright Clever Cloggs.

Doesn't make a difference, but I'd get a domain first because someone else could take it before you.

Again, it's all up to users. Just because you have the domain, it doesn't mean you will get users and vice-versa.

To be honest, you should get everything done before you release or whatever you decide to do. Get the domain, get a good theme, get all your forums done and then tell others. Spend at least a month making sure everything is complete.

No, not at all. Every domain has equal chance at ranking number one.

No, not at all. The domain doesn't even need to relate to the website for it to rank number one. It depends on the Search Engine Results Page rankings where you need to optimize your links to your site.

Sorry but I've got to say it as well. They have absolutely no impact on PageRank.

I can have a fourth level subdomain (eg. mysite.resellersite.hostsite.co.cc) and that can have a better PageRank then site.com without doubt. Just get a front page link from Facebook, Twitter and eBay etc. and you've gotten yourself a definite PR8 at least.

As for your second question, no, that's still incorrect. Who's to say that the .com site will do better than my mysite.resellersite.hostsite.co.cc site? My site could get more users than your .com site, and also, it's the quality of the links that matter. Your .com site could have a million PR N/A or 0 links and my mysite.resellersite.hostsite.co.cc site could have 10 PR8 links. I will definitely do better PageRank wise.
