I will be getting a tablet, I just don't know which one you guys prefer.

Some of the features I want include...

Wifi
Office apps/programs
Webcam
Protective Case

I don't want a super small screen, but don't want a super large screen either.

Are stylus included, or do users not use stylus on tablets only mobile phones?

I'm a fan of Samsung, LOL~ I think I'll mention Samsung Galaxy Note 10" or the new Galaxy Tab 3. I'm not sure if Galaxy Tab 3 comes with a stylus, but Note does have a stylus. Usually Samsung's tablets have Polaris Office inside already, but you can download another office program if you want to. As for protective case, you usually have to buy it independently, but I like Samsung's cases. Simple but pretty.

Ok cool, yeah because the main thing I will use it for is when I'm taking city transportation.

I also want it for work to.

And need a webcam for conferences and what not.

How about the Amazon Kindle? Is it good?

If you want proper word editing programs etc. then the Surface RT or Surface Pro is your best option. 2 Cameras, Wifi and the possibility of connecting both keyboard, USB and an external memory card.

Im research the Surface RT now, it seems that is the one that might suit me the best.

If you want to hear me, I have tried the Surface RT (350$)
Samsung tablet and iPad.
From all these three, they had essentially quad cores and dual cores.
If you want to waste your money, go for any of these three.
I couldn't believe that so many people went with this stuff, when there were Chinese tablets for only 60$-70$ (mine is 70$)
I bought myself a Chinese tablet a year ago and still working perfectly.
Opens PDF, plays latest games (the only game I could play on low was GTA III) and it really depends what tablet you get. Mine has 512 DDR3 of ram and Mali 400 as a GPU. 1.2Ghz processor, which opens everything possible.
These are somewhat the specs of Samsung Galaxy SII and we are talking about a tablet cpu here, not phone cpu!
So it will be much more worthy to spend money on any of these Chinese tablets.

Btw, it has webcam, it has office stuff and everything a tablet can do. Even SD card place for 32GB. My friends were so unhappy when they saw me with 2 tablets at hand for 1/3 the price of their tablets 🙂
I was playing Final Fantasy III 2 days ago and it was super!
(I even have Photoshop mobile version which opens perfectly and there is even autocad!!!)

Also mine are 7" version, but you can get 10". Also the cpu and gpu must have changed and become even better I guess.

I actually purchased the Samsung 10.1" HD Galaxy Tab 3 Dual-Core Wi-Fi Android Tablet with App Suite - White, last night, it should arrive here in 3 to 7 business days. Figured it would be nice to browse forums, emails, etc, when i am outside and i don't want to turn on my laptop.

I agree a lot of the Android, Windows, and Apple tablets are overpriced compared to smaller brands.

I heard good things about these websites listed below having good prices on Chinese branded tablets.
http://www.chinavasion.com/
http://www.pandawill.com/
http://www.ainol-novo.com/

The Lenovo Yoga 8 is also worth checking out at http://shopap.lenovo.com/hk/en/tablets/ ... ga/yoga-8/ , and there is a 10 inch version of it at http://shopap.lenovo.com/hk/en/tablets/ ... a/yoga-10/

I recommend the Nexus series of tablets from https://play.google.com/store/devices if you want to always use the latest version of Android which is released since Google always releases the latest updates to their Nexus devices for years to come unlike other brands which stop upgrading their tablets after they release a new tablet. There is also no bundled apps like Touchwiz launcher in Samsung's phones and tablet which may slow down your tablet.

You can get a Stylus for a few dollars on Amazon, and eBay, but I find using a stylus inconvenient because I might lose it, and my fingers are good enough for typing, and clicking on buttons, and links.

SAMSUNG is a good choice that you can go for. You will get all your required features including a good camera and a large screen. Galaxy Tab or may be Galaxy Note II are the best options that you can select from.

I personally would go for the Microsoft Surface RT. If you're wanting things like Office 2013, it's a great tablet. I use it all the time at school and on the move and I've found it much more useful than an iPad for example.

If it's a contest between a Surface, Samsung or Apple tablet, Apple is sitting on the sidelines - incomparable to the other two in functionality and what you can do, the iPad is way too locked down in my opinion (and boring).

I personally hate them both! 🙂
Again, if you are going for a tablet, Chinese tablets are the best.
What is the point of a quad core 2GB ddr3 ram on a tablet when 90% of tablet applications are not even multi-threaded
It will take some years for that to happen, especially now that android got even more market share.
http://www.engadget.com/2013/10/31/stra ... one-share/
So it is going to get worse if you go with Windows RT (because of the low market share developers won't appreciate it)

Another clear point is that Microsoft lowered the price again lately of their tablets.

I think it is also best to wait until Android tablets come pre-installed with Android 4.4 KitKat in the coming weeks and months since it will work more quickly on Tablets with as little as 512MB of RAM because it removes most of the un-needed apps, services, and background programs which few people use, and it is optimize for slower devices according to

"All this is about to change with Android 4.4 KitKat. According to Google, Android 4.4 KitKat has been designed to run fast, smooth, and responsively not only on high-end devices but also on entry-level ones that have as low as 512MB of RAM."
http://gadgets.ndtv.com/mobiles/news/an ... ram-440357

I feel Surface RT is overpriced since there are cheaper Android tablets, and RT forces users to use Office 2013 because there are very few or no alternatives to MS Office on RT unlike Android which has Google Drive, Kingsoft Office, and QuickOffice. The App selection in the Windows store is not as good as iOS, or Android, so the iPad Mini, or an iPad 3-5 would be a better choice if you plan on spending $450-500.

RT also does not have the freedom of Android where you can buy Apps from Amazon, or Google Play, and the ability to easily root your device to install custom ROMs like cyanogenmod, and use rooted apps for overclocking the CPU, RAM, and GPU, and uninstalling default apps which came with your tablet on Android devices with unlocked bootloaders like the Nexus 7-10.

No competitor to iPad. The mini is what I bet you'll like. Blows everyone away.

Got anything to support that? This isn't an Apple fan club... The Ipad is good in many ways, and lacking in many others. He clearly stated the need to work with office documents, something the Ipad severely struggles with..

Unfortunately, even as an iPad owner, I have to side with Tindris here. My iPad is very nice, but after using an iPhone for a long time, it just feels like the same thing on a larger screen. On top of that, when I attempt to use the iPad for school documents, many documents become askew because of the apple formatting for Word Documents.
