Who uses more than 1 monitor?

I want to get a PC with an i7-5960x and three GTX 980s and hook up six 27" monitors to it. Two monitors per GPU and one core/two threads per monitor.

just kidding

 That's pretty good, mate. On a more serious note, though, aren't there some jobs/careers where you have to look at more than one computer screen?

It definitely helps if you're a programmer. I can imagine it would be helpful for graphic designers as well.

Here's my current setup.

For those of you who do use more than one screen, how can you handle it? That would seriously be too much of a headache for me.

That's exactly what i wanted to ask 😛

I thought that at first too, but it really increases productivity and is surprisingly useful.

It's just the same as having multiple tabs/windows.

I agree! It gives me a headache to not use multi monitors now. 😛

I have an iMac connected to two external monitors. I mostly use the main iMac, though, as it's a very large display (27 inch).

I used to, now I just have a giant screen. 😛

TBH I never got the hang of two monitors, probably because one was a laptop hooked to another screen, which was just really weird. I have an all-in-one now so I have to get a HDMI adapter to even get another screen....and it's just a waste if I get another screen thats smaller than my big one currently. 😉

I never relly have but i use my tv as a monitor cus i can get 1920 by 1080 resolutien. Maybe i should hook up my other montior as a second one.

im thinking about hooking up 4 monitors when i move into my new house but im slightly concerned that might make me a complete jackass

I have four monitors. Well, actually I have alot more than that, but I don't use all of them at once.

I've been using a setup where i have three monitors for varying tasks for a while now. I have a main one (Qnix 2560x1440 OC'd to 120hz), an older ASUS 1080p to the right, and a large 37'' Vizio 1080p mounted to the wall behind my main. I use the main monitor for most of the stuff the general stuff I do. I just keep stuff I want to have grab my attention but not give my main attention to the right. The one mounted to the wall is for playing games while relaxing on my bed or watching Netflix. I don't think I could ever go back to having one after all of that.

I use two 1920x1080 displays right now. Insanely useful multitasking abilities that you'd never have on a single display setup.

I use 3 screens, one is 1280*1024 on my left, my central screen is a 24" 1920*1080, and my right screen is a 1680*1050. It makes it very useful for multitasking as well having a screen that is dedicated to monitoring system settings, putty etc. I don't see myself going back to a single screen as a primary system.
