I use Windows 8.1. If you're using ClassicShell it's pretty much 7 with some performance improvements.

I completely agree. I can't wait until Windows 10 actually releases, though. I've tried it out and I so much prefer it.

Yeah, it looks very interesting. Windows finally getting a workspace switcher is great.

It does depend on how easy it is to work, will it have keyboard shortcuts, or touch gestures- for those who have a touch display.

Heh, wasn't able to vote; still using XP. Have no intentions of moving on from it.

I use windows 8... but I downloaded classic shell and changed some things and now it's pretty much exactly like windows 7. 🙂

I use windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. Very fast, boot in 16 seconds. Support maximum performance. I don't like windows 8

The work I do requires me to start current with all MS products so I am always updating my home OS to what MS has released. It does become rather expensive trying to keep up but what can I do if I need to remain current.

I want to ask something. Is anyone experiencing troubles in connecting to wi-fi with Windows 8 or 8.1? I often can't connect to the wi-fi here at my boarding house. Another friend who lives at room next door doesn't have it as often as I do, and he uses Windows 7 if I remember correctly. Before I upgraded to Windows 8, I also don't think I have so much problem with internet like this.

Is it related?

The fact that they have trouble at all and they're using W7 indicates it may be an ISP thing if you're both using the same ISP.

I've not had any issues connecting, and I use 8.1

When you say problems connecting, what do you mean? Does your router not show up as an option, or does it just say can't connect?

When I clicked on a wi-fi to connect, often it will appear as connected (without any yellow triangle sign) but when I go to browser I can't open anything. Or more often that it just won't connect to that specific network at all after multiple connect attempts.

I read Wi-Fi, but my tiredness didn't register it. Woops!

I'm still inclined to believe it's a Wi-Fi issue and not one with your device. Just to identify the issue, I'd ask more of the people that live in the house if they have issues.

It seems to get worse lately that people started to use portable modem. But sometimes when I saw them, they said they could still use the wi-fi while I couldn't. Perhaps there is a problem with my computer, but the greater problem seems to lie at the wi-fi. The owner did say once that the provider was trying to configure the network to match Windows 8 setting or something, but strange that we still have errors up until now.

Thank you for the answer! 🙂

I like windows 8 but don't have it on my computer. I fixed someones computer and they were using windows 8 though. It looks nice 🙂
