So after some suggestions I am thinking of doing a posting content with the prize being an XenForo license.

Before I am willing to invest $140 into a prize I am looking for some expression of interest from you guys at FP of who would be interested in participating.

This would be on http://adminpeak.com

EDIT: If you wish to join this competition leave me a message that you want a PM or Email and I will send it out as soon as it launches.

I would be really interested, I'd even skip school  that's how much I want one 😱

Well if I get more responses like that I can do it but we'll have to see.

I will need a formulate a list of where I can promote it to see if it'll be worth it. It's a lot of money after all.

How many posts are you expecting us to reach 🙂

Is that a nulled version or a did you really buy it? Have to ask, so many frauds out there these days.

He's a trustable guy and not stupid enough to used Nulled software 😉 if it was Nulled, there would be no need to save up! 😛

It means he will buy it. 😛

I'm sure many people will participate in the contest karoshio, because Xenforo is one of the hot softwares out there. I won't participate though as i have nothing to do with a Xenforo license.

All and all if it's legit, then it's a great prize. Wish you well on this venture, keep us posted.

A better prize for those of us who are skeptical on the legitimacy of the license would be to give the winner $140 (or to be even, $150) via paypal so they can buy their own license, or perhaps put it towards a license of their choice such as IPB or vBulletin. 🙂 Just a suggestion though 🙂 I mean it'd make sense to do it this way IF you're going to be spending that kinda money anyways on a license....

I don't understand why people would think it's not legal.
It's not like I'm going to give you the files I would be giving you a brand new license that you can access. That would just be stupid any other way.

I may offer the option of IPB but vBulletin is a bit much.

I agree with the above, let the winner do what he/she will the money. $140 is $140 when it's cash but a Platform License is not $140 to the winner, it may be to the site owner giving the license away but to the winner it's a license. Why not just offer the cash or split that value up and offer several cash or gift card prizes.

One reason may be, what if a winner does not have paypal to accept the prize? So I do see why such a prize may be offered as it is. This said, why a platform license, what if the winner does not own a forum or even want to open one? Why not offer a few Amazon gift cards that can be accepted with an email?

I think the prize is very limiting. I would rather participate if it was for cash or a gift card for Amazon, iTunes, or some other global store. Not saying your prize is wrong, the questions of legitimacy is warranted. Rather than take offense simply reply in a professional manner rather than a defensive one.

Example: I appreciate the concerns some of you have shared. We are well area of online scams regarding prizes. We are offering a legit and legal license and we look forward to those that desire to participate.

The above gives you credibility shows you are professional. Always take the higher ground, do not make a public display of those who challenge you.

I for one asked because, I have seen a rash of large cash payouts being offered for staff, exchanges, and prizes of which was not common a few months ago. I'm not referring to $5 and $10 but more so $50 to $60 and now yours happens to be one of the highest valued prizes I have seen at $140. Keep in mind some of these highpayouts have turned out to be rigged or just not paid.

I thank you for clarifying that the license is legal and full.

I understand your point but since I own an admin forum it would be a little odd having someone on there with no interest in running a forum. Not that I wouldn't welcome someone in the case but since the forum is focused on forum administration you see my point

Well, you made a point there. If it's cash then they cannot accept a cash prize. As for the license I gave the reason above.

I was not trying to be defensive here is how I see it. I run a forum based around forum administration, there is no reason why I would completely ruin my reputation by doing something like that. Also I really cannot give an illegitimate license when I am actually giving them access to the license meaning it's impossible to not be legal.

The reason I am willing to offer such a large prize is because I have a ton of free time so I have been doing free lance work which has earned me far more than each to afford $140.

I apologize if I sounded defensive I just don't like anyone thinking of me being illegitimate in that sense.
I feel before even mentioning that it should be thought of as mentioned above that why would I risk completely ruining my reputation.

I'd be interested. Would the winner be able to choose to have $140, or is it strictly just a license?

I have not yet decided on that one, TheNova. I prefer to give a prize rather than cash but we will see.

I will wait and see what kind of interest a license has.

The main reason for a license is a lot of people want money but there's a lot of people who cannot get money for a license and really want one.

Great reply and thanks for taking the time to read my post. Appreciate the thought you put into it. Your explanations make sense to me.

It's a great prize for sure.

No problem at all, I always take my time to read anything directed at me. I don't want to be betrayed any way I don't feel I am.

I appreciate the understanding.

From my understanding we already have a Xenforo license and we will be converting over in a month or two. My tech admin needs to run a few tests first to make sure things are running smoothly before officially converting over. For instance, we have a few members who have been permanently banned from the forum. One of the tests he's going to run will determine whether or not the members will stay banned after the conversion or if we have to add everything manually. IP's emails, usernames, the whole nine yards.

Well, that's not really related to this post but good to hear. I can already tell you they will stay banned. You just match up the banned group with the banned group when converting. I'm pretty sure it automatically detects it also.

Well, I am thinking point based.
Based around a posting contest, some for posts, more for threads.
Then tie in a referral element where you can get more points for having a referral join up and make at least 5 posts.
Then throw in a few other things like Liking us on Facebook and following on Twitter gives 1 time extra bonus points.
Uhm, tweeting the contest or AdminPeak once per week for bonus points.

Just a bunch of different things like that.
