Oh yeah, I'm back up and climbing to my feet. About a month ago I had the copmuter I use at work bit the shed and then two days later my PC at home bit the shed. With some communications with the webmaster of FAC and PL I was able to get not only parts for the repair of the two computers but also two new computers that enable me to work the internet sites from home.
Now I'm not fully up and running just yet, I still do not have my PS CS3, Photomatix, my film scanner or any of my photos retrieved from the old computers but I am online and alive from the house. :2thumbs:
Great deal is an understatement. I'm not going to lie and say this is all top of the line equipment but it's an upgrade and a half from what I was using. Before I was using a non internet able HP Pavilion EX-783 (almost stock) running on Windows ME at home and a bone stock HP Pavilion a708n running on Windows XP at work.
I now have two purpose built PC's running on Windows XP here at home. They are about the same age as the Pavilion a708n but the one I have hooked up at the moment it five or six times more responsive. He was just going to throw them out but after my computers bit the shed he decided to send them to me after a little enhancing along with a large handful of other components. All and all I got enough ecuipment to build two additional functional PC's along with the two complete towers and it did not cost me a dime just because I am apparently a vital asset to his websites :great:
I have no qualms about accepting second hand equipment.
