Who's your board rival?

All this time, I've been using forums.
I think I have 3 rivals pokeboards.com , thepoketown.com, and pokelightforums.com

What's your rival?


No guys, by rival I do not mean big forums that every knows, Im talking about boards close to your sites and whatever.

So if it was me, I wouldnt say Marriland or PokeCommunity.

I would say what I stated above.

The whole Internet. Its not just one or two from the same genre, its whoever you can truly attract, and this is the whole Internet. Also, they aren't necessary your rivals. They can be your allies, helping you get members/activity. If you didn't have those forums, where would you get your members from?

For me, being a forum centered around SWTOR, I'd say my biggest "rivals" are:

Yes, I know what the OP is saying as well, but you can definitely look at it from different perspectives. I hope he just means forums with the same genre, not rival as in "trying to shut them down". 🙂

Mine was Webverts, but it has since become extinct. So right now I have no decent competitors. Our activity has been bumped by our awesome new theme, so a bright future for us.

I don't believe forums should have 'rivals'. I mean, aren't you suppose to make a forum for the fun of it? Not to beat another forum. It's about bringing happiness to your members, not getting as many posts as possible.

Well, there aren't really any other forums in my niche, besides mine and the insanely huge, giant ones. The only one near my forums' size is kotormmo.net

Probably Literature Unleashed, though we've totally pushed them out of the market.

My forum gets around 140 posts per day. They get around 30... We are around the same age as well. Not more than a month between us.

I used to compete with a few other gaming/Nintendo forums when Dashing was still a Mario Kart site. Since it turned into a general discussion site, we haven't really had any 'rivals' of sorts.

I suppose we just compete with other general discussion sites.

Slightly off topic, but when considering rivals I often consider Google to be a competitor. When someone is searching for a piece of information or to get help with something, they can search for an answer on Google, or they can post a question on my forum. My point is that you should not be too narrow in your thinking, when considering who your competition are.
