When I was young, my brothers who were teenagers were allowed to drink because my father was a drinker. They also smoked a lot. I was wondering why they had to drink and smoke. What do they get from that? My mother would say that they were wasting their money and I agree to that. But come to think of it, vices are big business. The tobacco industry depends on the smokers and the liquor makers depend on the drinkers. So I guess vices are here to stay.
