I have created a Facebook page for my blog but I can't seem to gain much likes. I have gotten 6 likes in a couple days. I have a contest where I am giveaway a prize once I reach 100 likes but it still does not seem people are liking my page. I have posted on other pages but they are not helping. My niche is quite low competition so there isn't a whole lot of fans around but I feel like my blog is at the top. Any tips?

You need to expose your blog more in the social media except Facebook also to gain a good amount of visitors that get attracted to your fan page and consequently like your Facebook page. You need to reach out to more people and increase your circle of friends to get more visitors on your fan page for more likings.

Facebook has also made it incredibly hard of late to promote something.
Like if you want any of your posts seen by even most of your followers you have to pay. Per post.
Ridiculous, really.

This happens I know you tube channels that have 10,00 subscribers but only 100 likes, people don't seem to connect socially unless your HUGE.

That's because most social networks these days are only giving people exposure to SOME of their audience for some reason.
It's absolute BS.

Make another Facebook account and add people who like your blog topics. After that invite them to like your Facebook page? I got my first 50 Facebook likes this way =p .

Ha! Actually not such a bad idea.

Like any other website, you should advertise your Facebook page URL as well. It is not enough to have only one link to it from your blog. There are many sites where you can advertise for free.

Just a quick update; I went from 6 likes to 21 likes over a few days. Right now I am holding a contest where two people who like and share my page will win a bit of cash. Still it doesn't seem like people are liking my page. Hopefully this will change!

Maybe you'll have better luck with Twitter?

Whatever your social media page stats are, your blog is what to focus on, I think. 🙂

With the new Facebook NewsFeed, it is almost impossible to get up there on likes and comments. The way the new algorithm works is the more likes and what not you get, the more your page shows up on others feed. However, this is horrible to do to newer or smaller pages. Like theezy said, try your hands at Twitter, they don't filter what you post.

Update: I had gotten a couple of likes everyday but it seems to have stopped at 35 likes. I am trying Twitter and am hoping to get some followers but still it would be nice to increase my likes. My goal is 100 likes. I have been posting on other pages and related forums but it is hard because the niche I am in is small and it seems like I am the only one in it really.

It's 85% difficult to get your facebook page promoted, especially the news feed gets update every second, also you have to promote your blog above Facebook 😉.

Yup, you have to pay. Not a whole lot, mind you. But paying very much helps to get you to those numbers. You determine your audience, geographical area, age, etc.. For let's say $5-10 you can get 20 likes if you're lucky.
