Why do you make forums? Why did you make your forum?
Did you make it solely for the purpose of earning money, or did you just make it as a hobby?
I personally created Fratal.Org for a hobby. Also, there were a couple of bigger cheating sites that I went to, and I found the staff to be a bunch jackasses and online bullies. So I thought, why not create my own? And that's where it started.
I first made one because I thought it would be a great pass-time. I don't really run forums anymore because I don't have the time... how ever I have a huge project coming soon. -happy-
I run them because I have no life. Oh, and because I want to go into the web field as a full time job at some point. "As a hobby" would fit me fine as well though -lol-
I start and run them because it gives me something to do. IM not big on sports (I have yet to post one post in the sports forum -😉- ) so I tend to have alot of free time, because I odnt do much homework either.
I look at the whole suggestions list and all the noobs that can't make site ask for all this and that.
Thats the only reason i do it.

Well mine is definitely a hobby. After the Air Force I haven't had much to do lol. I am waiting for the new college semester to start and then get into corrections. But for now I really have a lot of free time and that matches perfectly with running my own forums. Plus I love sports.
Honestly I make forums just for the fun of it. Though now I have stopped running my own forums due too the fact there is way too much time going into them and I don't have that kind of time anymore.

Though I never knew how tough it would be to work on a roleplaying forum. It isn't as popular as I originally thought, which made it very difficult to advertise on google adwords. It seems online games is one of the only ways to categorize it. And since that is such a broad topic, I lost a lot of money on my hobby.
And another reason is i get time to my self.Cus i got my own office in the house and nobodys aloud in.So i say i'm working on my future buisiness webbie and come on here or GH.
I made mine because I wanted to make a place where people can feel comfortable being themselves in a relaxed environment and not have to worry about nazi-ish staff getting on them for the most trivial of reasons.. I used to have a winmx chat room, and I got tired of the trolls and perverts constantly coming in and out, cross-discussions, people's computer's crashing, frequent room name changes, them being booted out randomly because of the buggy chat software, and banned members coming back.
I decided to make a forum because at least each discussion could be carried out in it's own topic, or section if they all pertained to the same subject, and there would be more features to offer each member compared to the chat room, and there would be more administrative controls to handle trouble some users. The best part was that if mine or their computer crashed, the discussion would not be lost, and they could continue as soon as they logged back on. This would also take place in a set-up that was far more sophisticated than a chatroom, even if they did offer a lot of the same abilities.
After thinking back to when my brother said that he made a forum for the fans his flash, and thinking back to what I wanted to do with the chatroom, and what I hoped would be better, I decided to make a forum and the rest is history. ~cool~
I made my forum because I wanted to have this place where all of my friends could just talk about different subjects and keep in contact with each other. The purpose is still the same in a way we just want to expand it. -8)-
