Why does Facebook send less traffic to outside websites than Twitter in your opinion? It is a well known fact that for advertising Facebook does not really convert that well compared to Twitter. Why do you think it is?

I wonder how well know it is verses how being accurate that statement is? I get way more traffic from Facebook than I do with Twitter. However, with Twitter, all I do right now is have my posts auto-tweet on my profile there. I do that with FB plus more. I think whichever social network you spend the most time on promoting will get you more traffic.

As far as FB ads are cocnerned, the more money you spend, the better results you are probably going to get - as with any ad network.

Do you mean directly following a Tweet compared to a Status Update? With Facebook a higher percentage of your visitors are real people compared to Twitter. When you Tweet you might get from around 5 to sometimes as high as 20 "guests" but they are mostly Twitter bots.

I wonder though, do those Tweets/Twitter bots help with your SEO ranking?

Anyway, I think another thing with Twitter is you can add tags to your Tweets related to your forum, and so that helps when targeting a certain audience.

There is more to do on Facebook like games, Facebook Chat/messaging, photo albums, apps, listening to streaming music on music fanpages, watching videos uploaded to Facebook pages and profiles, and other features which keep people on Facebook doing stuff on Facebook, and not wanting to leave.

Twitter has fewer features, and you can only tweet, read other members tweets, see embedded video, and images. Plus, there is a text limit of 140 characters, so people who want to read the full message, or even headline need to click to the source link.

I think it also depends on how active you are on Twitter and Facebook, and how you use your Facebook, and Twitter profiles to promote your forum since people go on Twitter and Facebook for different reasons sometimes. I go on Facebook to keep in touch with my family, friends, and play flash games, but I mainly use Twitter to search for articles to read, read celebrity twetts, or search about a topic on Twitter via trending hashtags, and topics.

If you have followers interested on your niche and if you have a huge following, you can get pretty decent traffic from facebook as well.

Because Facebook has less traffic than Twitter because it is not a direct competitor of Twitter.

Facebook is an advertising platform that allows users to post content and Twitter is a social media service that allows users to share news and updates. Facebook does not allow users to share their content, but Twitter does.

There are more Facebook users than Twitter users. This means that Facebook users are more likely to see ads for products on Facebook than those who use Twitter.
