Have you ever wondered why the return journey seems quicker even though it's the same distance and time?

Has anyone experience this? What do you think could be a reason for the perception of a shorter journey?

On the contrary... I think going on a road trip somewhere going feels shorter than coming back home. I always assumed it was because that on a road trip to somewhere it's fun, exciting, etc - then when it's time to go home in a way we dread coming back and are feeling tired from all the excitement.

If its a 2 hour drive, then its a 2 hour drive. Either way it feels the same to me. *shrugs*

I always remember it feeling like this when I was younger and me and my brothers used to go on day trips out with my Mum and my Grandma and I swear the journey there always seemed to take forever but the journey back never seemed to take as long even though, as you say it is the same distance.
