Why is dial up even an option anymore?

You can barely load up an internet page, you can't update any of your browsers or security system without getting kicked off and having to sign back in. Why is it still an option? Its obsolete. It should be discarded.

Dial-up internet can be used anywhere with a phone line because it uses the phone to access the internet by dialing a number to the dial-up internet company.

I think some very small towns still don't have DSL, Cable, and other types of faster internet, so Dial-up internet is pretty much their only option for going online unless they pay the high prices for Satellite internet.

Some people just needs the internet for e-mail, and loading simple websites, so Dial-up is a good option for them if they rarely use the internet, or they don't have much money.

There are places where some people cannot get high speed internet, due to various reasons, like no wired high speed connections in the area, no way to do a line of site wireless connection, or it just may be too expensive.
