Why should VB forum owners use "Thank Mod" ? Why is it so great ? I personally love it.

Does anyone have a link to the mod for VB version 3.5 ? by any chance ?

I have it on mine, dont see the use of it unless you have an extended member base.
I have just under 110 members, and only 1 thanks has gone anyones way, and that was me.

I've seen it on vB websites where there was 20 thanks per article etc. so it definitely works, only issue i have is it doesnt bump the thread like somebody saying "thanks" actually would, plus it increases your post count.

Come to think of it, i need posts and i have the MOD. Sigh.

It only really works on a forum with a fair bit of support questions or people wanting help. I don't use it

Well there are other times when this is useful. I don't thank people in real life only when they help me.

I like this mod, I like using it

^ My ACP linked me to that one, however it says that its for vB Version: 4.0.x

Anyway I use it on my forums and the members love it.
I've edited the "Thanked By box" that appears under the posts to be a lot smaller and less intrusive. The original one is very large.

I know I love it. It helps to be able to thank someone for a useful post or for completing a service for you, even if the topic is already locked. I like that.

They should use it so they dont have a lot of post just saying "thanks". Cuts down the spam. Less total post of forum but i would much rather have one thread with no replies then one thread with 15 post saying "thx".

That's a very good point. Personally, I'd rather have the thing saying who I've been thanked by, rather than a dozen posts all saying, "thanks for your help" or whatever.

Its not a must have mod. The only reason why I can see people using it on their forums if its a forum which provides help or advice.
