Whenever I post a topic looking for staff, I get no replies. No bites at all. I've tried being very specific about my forum, and the jobs and qualifications but nobody seems to care. My forum is in the virtual ghetto right now, and I need some assistance - stat!

I would also like for the services here to not dictate based on how many posts or members you have. My forum is very nice, but whenever I get guests, they rarely register. i've tried advertising on youtube, and all I got was a bucketload of guests, and the only members I got were either from foreign countries or didn't even realize what my forum was about, or both. (two total)

I would like some mega help here. I want a boom in my forum's activity, and i have tried everything from traffic sites to advertising to traffic digger to just about every place on the net. I NEED HELP. My forum has been up for a year, and DS Ultimate probably grew faster than my forum did in a year. (I hate that place.)

What do I need to do to get some help? I am only concerned about my own forum, and I can't help anyone else because I'm just not up to it, or I do not have the skills. I've tried posting on other people's forums, I've TRIED to help, but that didn't work out well.

This forum hasn't helped me much, and I really need it. And Why is it whenever people register to my site that they never come back- EVER?

From my understanding you have to wait until someone wants to help. 🙂

Some people aren't interested in some staff fields. I personally say you should hire members whom are already active contributers.

I also do not understand the other part as I don't request services here a often.

Hello, Here at ForumPromotion. We are not trying to make people not want our services, However! We cannot give services free, We just couldn't handle the workload as any website.

Also our services are pretty easy to obtain the right information. You can post those 20 topics/posts needed to obtain our reviews or even packages.

Also for you're website part we really cannot help you have active users as you have to find what you're audience like. We here at ForumPromotion are always trying to help users a like.

Some suggestions upon how to gain more active members...

- Contests

- Content for users to use arcade ect..

And more however, Using our Review service would probably be you're best bet upon what you need to add or remove to gain what we think more users.

Regarding no one posting in you're staff section, It could be because no one is interested. However this doesn't mean start hating websites and getting mad just means a majority of people here at ForumPromotion are not interested maybe by selecting active users on you're forum would be the best bet.

Sorry that you don't think FP is really helping. But believe me WE ARE ALWAYS TRYING TO HELP AND GO THAT EXTRA MILE.

Hi, i can only post as a member here myself...but this forum has been nothing but helpful in promotion.
You can not expect staff here or the forum itself to boost your activitiy, that is up to you alone.
To make yourself appear in need is only off putting to other members.

You need to address the way you promote before laying blame on anyone......
Forumpromotion can only assist you! It is you who need to need to make it marketable.

^^ there's your problem, in bold. You have to give to receive,. Make sacrifices to reap the benefits. Karma! Yes, it works in the forum business, as well 😉

With only 34 posts here, I can see why. It takes activty on other forums, to build yours. I'm sure you're advertising. But, are you joining forums, JUST to make on Ad topic, then leave. Or are you actually getting involved, showing the community you respect them, rather than using them just to advertise your forum on.

hcf...although im sure you think that is helpful, and i agree with many points.......i dont think this is a way to address members who are concerned with how there forum is being promoted.

People new to this "industry" find it hard to adapt to how much work is involved to create what they desire.

It does take a lot of dedication...and commitment. And a good forum does not happen over night....
As i said..forumpromotion can only assist you in getting there.....

Forum Promotion will never drive traffic to your site or make it the next big thing. No promotion forum will, it's not the purpose they exist for. FP, as well as all the others, are places to users to help each other out, learn from each other, share tips and tricks. It's like karma, unless you give you can never get.

Part of your forum is learning the best methods to run it. If you don't have the time or skills to do that, then you don't have the time or skills to do part of your job as admin, and thus you are doomed to fail. Sorry mate, welcome to the serious end of the Internet, the porn is a few tabs to the right.

I agree with hcf on this one.
Nintendo, if you don't have the skills to help with someone else's site then you should really ask yourself if you have the skills to run your own forum.

I have lots of posts here and I am even staff here, but that doesn't mean people will automatically join my site.

You got to tell people why they should join your site. Try telling them why your forum is unique and why it is better than the others.

Try a package here. Or a review. We are here to help, but we are not the ones that will make your forum the best forum out there. We are not responsible for getting active members on your site. Only you are responsible for that.

And yes, you have to give to get back. Try doing some posting exchanges with other users. Try doing daily exchanges. That means you post on someone else's forum daily, and they post on yours daily. Open up a couple. Try doing 5 for 5. Do it with 5 people or so. That means all you have to do is make 25 posts a day and you will have 25 new posts on your forum every day.

Good luck man!

Hey mate.

Like any Promotion forum you go to you are not guaranteed to get your forum active with 100000 members and posts. However we provide you a free service in which you can advertise your site and gain some extra viewers, if you put the dedication in then you'll see that your forum will eventually bloom. As hcf said, sometimes you can't think for yourself all the time and think about others, you'll find yourself booming in no time.

Things such as traffic don't come easy and don't come without dedication, just stick in there and advertise as much as you can, like i said we can't guarantee your forum will bloom by placing an ad on here but we can guarantee we will try as hard as we can and hopefully drive that little bit of extra traffic you need to your forum 😉.

Good luck mate.

I just had a look at your initial advertisement, You advertise a forum, but post it in Website Promotion, and you haven't bumped the thread at all. Could be why you haven't got much interest. I look to update my advert every 24 or 48 hours.

Posting on a Promotion forum will not guarantee you overnight success, you have to be extremely patient. And continue advertising, You can never advertise to much.

Services here are based posts, You will have more chance of people viewing your forum if you actually get involved in the community here. And to be fair there's loads of topics to post on, it doesn't take much to build your post count up and request larger services.

If your wondering why people aren't registering on your forum, Request a review and find out what the pros and cons are on your forum.

One thing that has majorly helped my forum is Post Exchanges, I really recommend doing them on your site.

Hope i've helped a little 😀

“The value of a man should be seen in what he gives and not in what he is able to receive.”

Albert Einstein.

Give and you shall receive mate.

Depending on forums content, people will join if they feel that a community can really give something. The general forum takes about half a year at most to properly take off.

Free Forums can get quite popular, however non of them actually stay popular for more then a couple of years because the features and can-do's are so limited.

You can't say no one likes your site because they don't want staff positions, it's personal opinion, and most people want a staff position on a popular and highly active forum.

One thing that I have noticed with people coming into the world of forums, they think mods/styles and lots of staff is a good way to gain members, thats the complete opposite.

My forum when I was looking for a new host with more memory, we had about a month or something with no mods/styles features with the default phpBB3 style, prosilver.

Members kept on joining though because we have a friendly active community that will take about anything.

If you need staff members, I'll help you out, but that depends on weather I think your forum needs help or not, if you forum has just you as a member registered and no one else, then you will need more members before I help you out.

People won't help you until you help yourself. That forum NEEDS posts. The best way to get other people to post is to post yourself. Don't go trying to get people to do your dirty work, because it won't happen.

If you need some quick posts though, post packages and exchanges help. You can also get a Review to evaluate where your forum's strong points are and how to best improve it.

But for people to stay and help, you need to give them a reason to. Why should they help out a tiny 12 member forum that the Admin doesn't appear to care about when they could actively contribute to a 1000 member forum where the Admin is constantly making new content?

In all honesty, if you can't keep the content flowing, you shouldn't be running a forum. Simple as that.

In the long run, you've also got to be willing to help others in your ventures. For example, almost all members here are forum owners and we enjoy helping each other out and seeing each other succeed. But, of course, we're more to help somebody who is willing to help others. After all, people like doing nice stuff for nice people. It's a karma thing and happens a lot in real life.

In all, you're going about promotion all the wrong way. YouTube/Twitter/Blogs/etc help get traffic, but members join up because of content. Your forum needs content! Without it, it will never develop.

People will only accept jobs if they want to, if your forum isn't what they are looking for then they wont reply.

I don't hate forum promotion, and it did help me get a co-admin, (although he has been having internet problems, so it's not really his or your fault) I just don't see how to advertise my site. And I didn't expect so many replies so quickly. I do not hate websites whose members treat me fairly and nicely. No one has said anything mean or hateful to me here, and I feel at home here. I only come here when I see a need though. What kind of contests should I have? Where should I have them?

I am not blaming anyone for my dead site, I just don't see why it's so dead right now.

Thank you for your support, and I'm willing to try everything I can.

Okay reading all of your replies just makes me feel bad about myself (puting tail in between legs and drooping ears) I am sorry I haven't realized this earlier. I will get more involved from now on. I'm sorry if I have been using you as "tools" to get my forum running. (even though I haven't intended it that way) And, I have been questioning my forum running skills. I ask myself deep down whenever I open up my "garbage dump" of a forum: "Am I really admin material?" I always thought being an admin was about monitoring your members and make sure they're not doing anything wrong, as well as helping them when they're in need or talking to them when they want someone to talk to. I generally thought: "Well, I've made my forum, now where are my peeps?" but now I know it's much MUCH more deeper than I thought... I'll get more involved here from now on.

Don't worry mate, people often make mistakes, glad you saw your error 🙂 Just do some post exchanges and try to help out some other people, once you've built up a reputation here people are more willing to help 🙂

It's alright, mate. Forums aren't as easy to run as people first expect. Sometimes it can take a few tries to get an active one running.

Don't let us discourage you, though. We are trying to help, even if we sound kinda harsh. Surprisingly enough sometimes harsh critism is the most effective. Just keep trying.
