why to have a custom website theme!

Having a custom theme is good but I think the more important thing is having an appealing theme. Even if you are using a free theme, if it is great and appeals members, then I think that would be better than a custom but ugly theme. It doesn't matter if another site is using it as long as it has that "wow" factor.

Having a theme that you can call "yours" is probably the best thing to do and also gives you more confidence in promoting your site as well. Just gives you that little "spark" and the "I did it" kind of feel.

That and most custom themes give you the ability to make the forum yours, which is a cooler bonus.
