Re: why wont people join my forums?

Well my friend, it all takes time... I started a forum but I am slowly growing. Try getting some friends to join your site. They can tell their friends about it and it may slowly grow then.

Then try promoting it within signatures, affiliates, post exchange, ect.

Request Packages & Reviews for your site to get more activity.

It is all a matter of how you plan this out and what steps you take for your success! But I know that with enough hard work, you will do great!

Re: why wont people join my forums?

I think it might have something to do with the lack of posts and empty forums. No one is going to join so they can create content for you. They are there to enjoy what you have to offer which is almost nothing. That is why few are willing to join.

Re: why wont people join my forums?

When I visit your forum I get an "ESET Smart Security - Alert" - http://www.diigo.com/item/image/17mfp/id6n

I'm probably not the only one seeing that message and unfortunately that will stop people from viewing, joining or posting on your forum. Moving away from a .co.cc domain, would probably resolve that issue.

Re: why wont people join my forums?

I don't get any security warnings about your site... Though if I did get one that could certainly cause me to leave your site in a hurry. (Depending on why I'm getting a security warning...)

But I think Bluezone777 is partly right for why people aren't joining... You don't have much content on your site. You need to buckle down and start posting up a storm. Get a friend to help, go for some post packages here, perhaps participate in a few post exchanges, etc...

Also, I'd suggest taking a look at your forums and descriptions and trying to improve them. Like using proper capitalization methods for one... EX- "Chat About games In General"
would become:
"Here is a spot to chat about games in general."
I don't mean to sound extremely picky or spiteful in regards to spelling/grammar, but this is something that everyone is going to see and may well turn people off from joining your site.

Though you have 5 sections for support so far (4 in your support category and then "Hardware Support" in a different category), but is there really a call for that diversified of a support section? So I'd say maybe combine those forums into 1 and call it "Support" (with a description like: "Here is where you can get support for a myriad of different game-related issues."). Then move this new unified support section into "Gamerz Depot Chat ".
(Then when you get more members, and by extension more support topics, you can divide it up as necessary.)

Though you could always take "Web-Services Support" and turn it into a general Feedback, Suggestion and Question area for your site to make it more multi-purpose. (I'd recommend placing that in your "General Chat area")

Also, I'm not sure what the difference between "General Gaming" and "Games Indepth" is... (And given that if I can't tell, there are bound to be a lot more who can't tell either.)

Re: why wont people join my forums?

ok thanks for all your feedback ill take that and modify my site to make it better and also add more content.

Re: why wont people join my forums?

When I saw your forum I thought I was watching a movie created in 1958.

Winning.

Anyways, the following factors are most likely why your forum is not doing so well:
- lack of content
- offering nothing new to the gaming niche, which is the poster child for oversaturated niches.
- users have no reason to join
- Some users are probably getting the same thing Fergal is.
- And your theme isn't that great and really needs some color so people like Shady don't have flash backs to WW2. lol.

Re: why wont people join my forums?

I can't seem to access your site. Is there a problem?
none else i know is getting a problem can you post a screenshot of the error please

Your new theme seems to look good but its not always just the theme that guests look for. Try providing game updates & DLC Announcements about games that are popular on the market at this time.

For Example, Call of Duty Black Ops 2 is coming out in 2 months, try posting updates about that and giving people a bit of an update about the game and what is new in their updates. This will interest some people like "oh hey I like this game, I wanna know what they are talking about"... that kind of thing will get them to join so that they can learn more about what is happening.

Also, if your site is lacking in posts then request a package here and on other promotion sites to get new posts as well...

You can also request a review if you wanna see what the team thinks about your site here as well.

Hope this helps!

Have you thought of opening a counting game? So that it will help raise the post count of your site?

Yeah, do this... if you want fake content.

Make REAL content, you'll have much better results. No one will join a forum to play a counting game that they can on any other forum.

Sorry, I meant to add on to this.. try opening a small section like a "Forum Games" section where they can post in there if they feel. But don't keep it as a Main part of the site, keep it more in a "General Discussion" or "Off Topic" sorta section.

My point still stands.

You like gaming, you made a gaming forum, what did you expect? That members would just flow in? Post, advertise, there's nothing else to do. Not to seem 'douche like' but why would you make a forum if you won't even post?
