Can't wait to see this Sunday night!

I've heard it's more in line with the book than the theater version was? I went to see the theater version in Chicago at the Oriental Theater, and absolutely loved it. I have most of the songs memorized 😀

Let me know what you think about this one? I'm disappointed they're splitting it into two movies.

I hate musical theatre stuff and the other half dragged me to see this at the theatre about a year ago and I hated it so much! We have tickets to go and see it in a couple of days time at the cinema 🙈

It probably depends on who played the main characters too whether you had a good show or not. I wish I had my playbill in front of me so I could tell you who we had. It wasn't Kristien Chenoweth, I know that for sure, but we had 2 good leads.

I haven't seen the stage version so I won't have a lot to compare it to compared to those who have seen it on stage.

I really wished they would have recorded it like they do some of the ballets!

New Zealand will often put the recorded shows like Hamilton, Titanic the Musical, Cats etc in cinema. I wish they would do that with a stage show of Wicked.

This looks better than I thought it would. I always worry whenever they bring a musical to the silver screen because all too often they miss the mark, but the trailers have definitely given me hope for this one. The only thing I worry about is the idea of splitting this into two films (especially since the majority of the most memorable songs are sung in the first Act/Part). But it seemed to do well in private screenings.

I've been watching the Reels of the leads singing...and it seems a bit off. I can't put my finger on it, but I think that they changed the score a bit? So it's a little difficult to listen to. Their voices are beautiful, it's just, something isn't right.

They had a bigger orchestra for this film so the music will be different to the stage show.

It was so awesome! I loved it. One of my new favorite movies! Can't wait for part 2.

So as someone who doesn’t like the Wicked theatre shows, I can also confirm I dislike the film just as much!

The leads are very good, it’s very well done however it’s just not my cup of tea at all.

What exactly did you love about it?

What made you dislike it?

I don’t like musicals so we were off to a bad start before it began 😂

Ahh okay, well I wonder what it would be like if it weren't a musical? I'd probably have to read the book.

I think I’d still struggle as I didn’t like what little bits of story there was!

I loved the songs and characters. I've always loved the Wicked Witch so it was awesome to have her backstory in some sorts even if Wicked isn't canon to Wizard of Oz.

There is talk that the team behind the Wicked movies are going to be going further and doing new projects. I and some other fans on Facebook have speculated there could be a remake of Wizard of Oz with the cast of Wicked.

My wife wanted to see this since she loves Wicked, so we had a date night on Wednesday. It wasn't bad, she thinks Cynthia Erivo's sung "Defying Gravity" better than Idina Menzel. I'm a fan of the Wizard of Oz so I figured I wouldn't mind it.

You'll like part 2 then because it follows The Wizard of Oz but in a different perspective.
