For my desktop and streamer I use ethernet as they need a very fast connection.
For my mobile I use WIFI as slow connection is enough here.

WIFI is ok for laptops and mobiles tablets. But when it comes down to your desktop or console i would say for 100% use a Ethernet cable.

Wifi for most of my devices, but if it can be helped I'd much prefer to go with a cabled connection as they're more secure and tend to have much less drops.

We bought a wifi router that is connected to the internet modem for the benefit of people in our house who are using phones for internet access. But our desktop is connected to the router by a cable which is the fastest connection.
