Hello,

I am thinking about hosting a referral contest so the user that referers the most numbers of users during a certain time gets a prize.

Will this help the forums or will it end up having dead users registering

Just curious and worried

It should help the forum, as long as you give out prizes that people are interested in. 😛

Ok thinking about starting the contest tomorrow then 😛

maybe A steam voucher it's easier and there's no postage costs.

Good idea, but make sure you add a requirement for each new user that is referred (say they have to make 10 posts or so, for the referral to count) That way it will work in your favor, and you can get some activity out of it as well. :great:

Contest usually helps the forum but also it could get you active users for during the contest period and disapear after. But give it a go and see if it makes a difference and if it does you can try hosting again. good luck
