If anyone's used Windows 8 yet on a non touch device, you know it can be quiet a pain sometimes. Luckily s generous member on our boards compiled a little list of shortcuts to help ease the pain
I use Windows 8 with a free startmenu program called Classic Shell downloaded from http://www.classicshell.net/ which brings back the Classic Windows desktop, and Startmenu, and Windows 8 feels like Windows 7 with Classic shell, but faster with the performance tweaks in 8 for older computers and tablets to run quickly on 8 even with 1GB of RAM, and a dual-core 1GHz CPU.
Classic shell also brings back the toolbar in Windows XP and lower for easily deleting, coping, and cutting files after you high lighted them with your mouse's cursor, and pressing on the delete, cut, or copy button on the toolbar,
Yes, Classic Shell startmenu is similar to the startmenu in Windows Vista/7 with the search engine box on the bottom of the Startmenu.
You can also also change the look of the Classic Shell startmenu to look like the Startmenu in Windows 98-2000, or XP if you don't like the Vista/7 Startmenu style.
Classic Shell is very custumizable. I think you can also design your own themes/skins for Classic Shell like how people make themes for Firefox, and other skinnable software. You can also change the Startmenu Button appearance with a custom picture as well.
I think one of the reason some people hate Windows 8 because they have a hatred for tablets which can do more then browse the web, and use a few apps like Angry Birds, and feel like the tablet will overtake the desktop tower PC market, and make the desktop tower less popular in the computer space like how some American car owners hate foreign Cars because they feel foreign cars will over take the American roads and high ways.
