I'm the administrator of the TechGeeks forum and I want to share a contest we're running to help out webmasters. All you do is register on the forum, make 10 posts, and submit your site to the contest. The site which they decide deserves to win the most will get sitewide advertising for two weeks.
If you have an awesome site that needs to get noticed this cold be your chance to jump start your site. Don't wait too long to register because the contest ends on January 31st!
This isn't just for forums either. Any site can win (if it's not against the rules).
Seems like it could already be fixed. I don't see the judges picking a site from a member who only joined for this contests; but would go with a more active member so not to drive them away.
Needs more detail on how the forum/site would be judged.
They'll be judged for the most deserving site. The point is to reward sites that have the potential to get a lot better if they could get traffic to them. Of course it will be more biased towards community-driven sites but a blog or a wiki could win.
We're looking for something unique that's not a copy of other sites. We're looking for a site that's trying to do something creative that could potentially become very interesting.
