Windows 7 sounds awesome, apparently its meant to be based off XP design.

Where did you download it, i can't find it on microsofts site. -(-

Funny, I dont remember them saying that while working on Vista >.>

I wont get it, ill skip Vista and hit Linux. You guys have fun on Win7, ill be having a blast with faster speeds, and more money in my pocket while using Linux -razz-
 
I got it from a private FTP, its closed now so unfortunately i cant share out the link no more :-( .. personally i want to go back to XP , although i love the GUI of Windows 7 i just dont like it , no matter what ive tryed .. vista windows 7 i always went back to XP 🙂

the BETA seems stable hasn't crashed on me yet so its definately usable for your main operating system.

The Size of the Image was 3.5GB (took me about 2hours dowloading at ruffly 830kbps)
 
830kbps? I usually get 12kbps if im lucky o.o

XP will always be the choice from this point on I think. Its been around too long, and weve all adapted to it the most.
 
Apparently not worth installing unless you've got a touch screen interface, at least that's what i've heard. Would see a bit pointless partitioning my hard drive and installing Windows 7 and then copying all my stuff over consdiering that it's more or less the same as Vista.

No Windows 7 for me thanks, Vista Home Basic "ftw" ~lol~
 
Isn't Vista meant to be for touch screens too, thats why they made everything so much bigger.
 
I didn't notice a difference in size between XP and Vista, except the start button. I know there were a lot of behind the scenes code changes between XP and Vista as well as the massive re-branding etc..

From what i've heard "on the street" and read up on Digital Point there is hardly any difference between Vista and Windows 7, including behind the scenes code changes ~lol~
 
It has a lot of new features actually.

For a start windows explorer has changed, upgrades to Paint and Wordpad, Calculator, new network controls, better usability with the taskbar, bug fixes, improvements on speed and memory usage (people have been isntalling it on netbooks for example), UAC improvements, it is fully touchscreen ready with multitouch. improvements to media such as music and images, new media viewer, windows media lite, new taskbar, auto-sizing windows, icon tray controls, jump lists, aero peak, taskbar movements and some other stuff i forgot since I saw it demo.

Go watch one of the videos on youtube of the demo at the PDC 2008 and you'll see most of the changes

Well its nicer than I thought it would be, I will admit that. They have yet to show me a feature to change my course from Linux though. If they say, "Faster than Linux by .9484 seconds" that might get my attention -razz-

I'll be getting it soon. I have to say though, I'll be missing my Windows XP.
