Now that you’re getting comfortable with Windows 7, it’s time to start thinking about the future. Windows 8 is well under way by now, so it was only a matter of time before the first real details would find their way out of Redmond.

*Headdesk*

Windows 8 does sound pretty nice, but c'mon, there are still people saving up to get Windows 7. I know it'll probably be a few years before W8 comes out, but they should really slow down a bit.

Agreed, I think Windows 7 will probably be the peak of the operating systems.

They just released windows 7 and already thinking about another one? :S

Any company would usually start thinking about a next release, even before completing a current one.

Yeah. Look at how many iPhones Apple have made.

Well if I know Microsoft at all if they are making major changes to the GUI of the Operating system and other major changes to the core, then Windows 8 will probably end up kinda like Vista did when it was initially released but we will see I guess.

Do they got a leaked screenie of how windows 8 will look?

I heard about Windows 8 before win 7 was released. Been out for ever.

From what I heard, Windows 8 will have new features like:

Motion sensor: the computer will start (if set so) when it "feels" movement around it.

Facial recognition: Instead of passwords you will be able to set windows do a scan of your face.

Settings sincronization: You will be able to store your settings on a remote Microsoft server so you can have the same settings on more computers, or even restore them after a reinstallation of the OS.

Also Windows 8 will have a "software store" like Apple had for the iPhone apps.

The release date hasn't been confirmed yet, but we might see it for sale in 2011 or (most probably?) 2012.

Cheers :great:

I'll never get Windows 8, it's just another program Microsoft can sell for money. I don't like that image, it looks nice except the 8, it's to flat and doesn't look right 😛

Think I'll stick with 7 for a few years, does everything I need it to at the moment.

im on vista so i will probally upgrade - i also have 2 pc's on xp
