I heard about this last year

It is going to be revolutionary 😛 nah it will suck

So it was last year it was announced? I thought it was early this year. And you're right about it going to suck as there seems to be a pattern going on... with one good Windows OS released, the next one won't be that good (i.e. Windows ME = bad, Windows XP = good, Windows Vista = bad, Windows 7 = good).

It doesn't surprise me as Microsoft said they will go back to a new os every 2 years pattern.

Ofcourse if you remember windows 95 and 98 this wasn't a good idea lol.

I am running Vista Ultimate SP2, and I just did the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor Test and my machine passed. I would like to install Windows 7 Professional because that is what my school is giving me for free, but I would like to avoid a "clean install" at all costs. I know I can't go straight from Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 Professional without a "clean install," but you can do it from Vista Business to Windows 7 Professional.

To do this, I would need to somehow install Vista Business over my currently-running Ultimate. Assuming I have a legal copy of Vista Business, is there anyway to install it without losing all my files and applications (ie. without doing a "clean install")? If the only way to go from Ultimate to Business is a "clean install" then I might as well go straight to Windows

In stead of announcing a new OS already before the release of their latest one they should focus on the problems and bugs of they previous releases. They just make an OS and think they are ready to start on the next one. =/

That company just needs a good sorting out, they seem to be so scrambled on different projects and starting new ones over old ones, it's both confusing and a very bad company model.

They should try to focus on one release, which is currently Windows 7. That way it would be much more secure, and overall better.

Agreed, but the sad thing is alot of companies do this.

Only Os I can think of that focuses on stableness is GNU/Linux Debain. Oh and the freebsd version of debain aswell.

Yeah good point Twitch, although I'd like to add Apple OS X to your list but Snow Leopard seems to be a right downer in the office. Ouch.

Wow! I just started hearing about Windows 8, if im correct windows 7 is already out right? 😛

Oh I did forget about apple. They do seem to make their os pretty stable.
