Windows Live Messenger messing up

Starting today, my messenger would show people that were online as offline. It is also showing me as offline when I'm online. I tried to sign out and back in, but to no avail. Is this only happening to me? and how do I fix this?

This happened to me once. I had no choice but to make a new MSN account. :/ I would recommend waiting a while to see if it goes away. After that, try a new account and see if it still does this.

EDIT: It seems to be happening to me now, too. It must be a temporary MSN problem.

Down for me also, happening to a lot of people, there's a facebook with around 10k members atm aswell 😛

Don't result in making another account. There is an easy fix to this. Try uninstalling any other messenger you have that run on similar hosts. Skype and MSN for example. Uninstall and reinstall (if needed) should fix the problem. Worked for me when I had this issue.

When I had this issue, I didn't use any messengers but MSN, and I tried reinstalling multiple times. I came to the conclusion that it was the account.

Snobo, when you tried to redownload, did the error say something like "oncatalogresult" or something like that, and "an unknown error occurred"?
