Windows XP Boot-Up Help

The computer goes to a black/grey screen with the cursor on the top left just and just sits at that screen and nothing happens...

Any of you run into this with xp or any other operating system and what did you do to fix it.

Have you tried booting into safe mode? I haven't had a Windows computer in quite a few years, but this could fix the situation.

How do I get there again...when its booting hold F8...was it?

I always just jam the F8 key repeatedly to get the boot menu. If you can boot into safe mode, maybe you can do a system restore. Did you update any hardware or drivers recently?

Maybe you can just go into safe mode and format your computer or something.

Yeah, press F8 a few times and I think that should work. Haven't used XP in a while.
