While thinking about retro topics, I randomly stumbled upon this one. It's quite a shock to me. Winnie the Pooh has a new movie coming out. It's not going to try and change up the original formula, it will be released in 2-D. That's right, 2-D.

The new movie is simply titled, Winnie the Pooh, produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. It is the 51st full-length animated film in the cannon, and is a reboot of Disney's Winnie the Pooh franchise. Production began in late 2009, and the film is scheduled for release on July 15, 2011 in the United States.

The setting also should be familiar, the Hundred Acre Woods. Winnie the Pooh features two previously unadapted stories from the original books ("In Which Eeyore Loses His Tail, and Pooh Finds One" from Winnie-the-Pooh and "In Which Rabbit Has a Busy Day, and We Learn What Christopher Robin Does in the Mornings" from The House at Pooh Corner).

The movie has been produced in the same style as previous Disney-produced Winnie the Pooh featurettes such as Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree and Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too.

Pooh used to be good, but they destroyed the show when trying to make it more "hip" to todays youth. I think they are detectives or something now.

I used to watch this all the damn time as a young kid. Wouldn't go see the movie, but it's cool that they're keeping it to its 2D origins.

I LOVED Winnie the Pooh growing up. But i have since grown out of it.
