I would like to know what people are thinking of this so far in the VERY early phases of this design. (Please note, © QJ, all rights to me, do not use without express and written permission of Jack, which will not be given so don't ask). It is for a personal project / design project. I'm not sure of the seriousness of it yet.

This is a redesign of an old project I was pursuring on Proboards, but with the upgrade of v5 on the horizon, lost of concept thanks to host, and the lost of interest from our coder, this project was shut down. However, the jist of the design is still viewable:

I would like to ask that users give me some advice on the concepts, and which design they like better. It is quite obvious that the concept given above is flawed in some areas, but you get the idea of it. Though I would love to hear thoughts about color scheme and layout. This is real basic stuff right now. Eventually I will put more developments on it.

QJ I actually really enjoy this design! I think everything looks super smooth and the images are nice and web 2.0 style. It looks really really nice! This is a design that I would really enjoy using on a site if I was creating one. Great work!

Thanks Kino! Hopefully I actually turn it into a real project. It's a longtime project I've been working on. Thanks!

Thank you!

I have an update on this.

What are your guy's thoughts? Also, I was playing around with the city in the header and added some windows to it. Like that look, or no?

Very nice design QJ. My only problem with it right now is the skyline in the footer, it looks okay in the header but I think it may be too large in the footer for the image you're using. Maybe put the towers closer together without the gaps? I wouldn't know it was a city skyline if I didn't already see the header.

I agree with Geoffrey, the footer feels a bit too huge there. As for the additional windows, it didn't feel too significant to the design, sorry. Just slightly different from the footer, yes, but nothing too special. It looks nice, though.

This seems like an interesting design, looking forward to see how it'll look like when it's finished!

Good luck~

Thanks for the comments. I agree. I also feel like it makes the background feel greyer than it is, which I really don't like. I may scrape that part, honestly. I tried earlier making them closer, however then it appeared cluttered. I have a few other ideas on how to incorporate the theme a bit more.

Thanks for the comments! The footer itself is too large and I will address that when I work on it. The city itself, as I mentioned above, may be scraped completely for the footer. I am having issues making it work. Thanks for your thoughts!

Still a wide footer. I like the post layout, though. Good luck with the design! 🙂
