[WIP]My Prosilver - Prosilver theme for MyBB.

Can they file a complaint against you?
I am not sure. Did you ask them first?

Can an experienced member with knowledge on these types of things enlighten me?
 
phpBB is open source. So, according to their license i can port their theme (ofcourse i will add credits in footer to them once i finish the design).

If you are going to copy a forum software with proprietary license (like xenforo, IPB, VB, etc), then you can't do it without their permission.

Oh okay, i don't have much knowledge in this type of stuff. So i am just going to take your word for it. For your sake i hope you are correct.

Do you only design MyBB themes?
I don't understand how complex it can get what you are doing, but as far as cloning goes, good job.

lol. You can trust what i said. Its how open source stuffs work. Even MyBB developers can copy code from phpBB, and vice versa (but they won't 😛). Its free to use and free to copy/modify.

And i do Vanilla designs too, but not good at it.
And MyBB template system would be quite easy to work with. It does take lot of work as i have to change the layout a lot to make it look like phpBB. But its quite easy to do knowing HTML+CSS well. Its time consuming though.
 
Very nice kavin, I had been thinking about doing this myself,but never did 🙁.

I am glad someone like yourself is making it 😀.

2 reasons.

1) Someone requested it in MyBB community a month before, but i don't have time to do it at that time. Since i got some free time now, i though i would make one and release it for free.
2) Many phpBB themes are based on (or slight modifications of) Prosilver. So, if i make a prosilver theme for MyBB, it would help people who move their forum from phpBB to MyBB. 😀
 
lol nice. it wold probably difficult to say if the forum is mybb or phpbb if we won't look into the codes or the copyright in the footer. 😀 nice work

More styles are based off prosilver because of the template style. Nice, though, good luck buddy 😀
